Privacy policy
Effective: October 3, 2026
Challa is designed to keep photos and film notes on your device. The current service does not use accounts, a photo upload server, or location history.
Data stored on your device
Photos you capture or import, rolls and frame counts, edit settings, and app preferences are stored in the app's local storage. Photo import uses the Android system photo picker. The app opens only the photo you select.
Permissions
Camera access is requested when you open the viewfinder. The app does not request location, contacts, microphone, or notification access. Deleting the app or clearing its data can also remove locally stored photos and notes, so check your exported copies first.
Ads and network access
Ads are disabled by default. A build with ads enabled applies Google's UMP consent flow before ad requests. This build keeps the ads flag and SDK configuration separate and visible in app configuration. The policy will be updated to match the actual release setup before ads or store services are enabled.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy and its effective date if the service or legal requirements change. Privacy questions: [email protected].
